Do we need more black people in the psychology field or is that unimportant in the long run for black folks?

Both. I'd ask you this. How does one go about Changing something while dealing with people whose mental ailments can prevent change? For what, exactly? We talking just to be in the field and create Black guilds and be a force in it? Or to address mental problems in our communities?
If it’s the former, I’m widdit.
If it’s the latter, the numbers will never add up.. We’ve got way more people that need help than we’ll ever have people to treat them. We need to work from the bottom (Change our communities) rather than dealing with the fallout from it.

I disagree. Fundamentally, our behavioral and mental issues are the same across the board. Regardless of race.Yes, because white psychologists do not have the same life experiences. We also need to be more open to mental health services in general, because there are a lot of people in our communities who really need it.
