Do we really need a Boo'd Up remix with Lord Quavius & Nicki Minaj?

@CrimsonTider You see the negative reception this remix is getting both in The Booth & TLR, social media, other forums, & comments sections? I think this ties into the point you made in your thread last week about R&B fans don't want to see R&B artists, rapping.

Yuck.:hhh:

I feel Chris Brown would have fit in perfectly

Hope not like this :scust:.

Yea, i would have taken chris brown over a new beat.., and been done with this song 4ever... :camby:
chris brown ruined the Focus remix
:comeon: "Boo'd Up" is a way better fit for Chris Brown than H.E.R's "Focus".

"Boo'd Up" is mainstream R&B song produced by DJ Mustard, for God's sake. It's a hit on Mainstream Urban, Rhythmic, & Urban AC radio formats (it should also be a hit on Pop/Top 40 radio, but won't because of :mjpls:). "Focus" is R&B song that only getting played on Urban AC radio.

It pretty much just has to be a hit.

The fact that people don't care for & are disgusted with a remix with Rappers on it, I think it's a positive sign that R&B is making a comeback.

@stomachlines @Otis Kane Jr. @dora_da_destroyer What y'all think?

I don't know the song and or the remix you talking bout but here's my opinion on a remix.

The problem I started having with remixes was that they stopped being "remixes"
(I don't care who's featured on a remix so long as the motherfukker got TALENT and can actually do a great job on the REMIX.)
A remix use to be a sequel of some sort of the original song but with creative changes that gave way to a new song from the original.
In a lot of cases back in the day, the remix would sometimes be better than the original version of the song
Over the last like 10 years and some change, artists started getting lazy and only adding people to the original song and then calling it a remix
When it reality, all they was doing was just singing or rapping over the same beat but just with now someone or other artists who weren't on the original but keeping the same original version of the song and not changing anything to it.
I'm not saying that was always the case but it became the case for more frequently than not.

This song already sucks, but adding NiKKKi Minaj will make it suck even more. :dead: And the only remix that junkie Chris Brown needs to do is Spoon’d Up. :camby:
