I get the point you were trying to make.. I guess.. :francis:... I don't think that shyt about being clingy and women being your therapist/ friend stuff applies to me tho... I wish :snoop:

Maybe I'm just wack :yeshrug:

But I think there are benefits to having friends. I just don't have (or make) time to hang out wit "da fellaz" ...

“Be wary of friends-they will betray you more quickly, for they are easily aroused to envy. They also become spoiled and tyrannical. But hire a former enemy and he will be more loyal than a friend, because he has more to prove. In fact, you have more to fear from friends than from enemies. If you have no enemies, find a way to make them.”

“The problem is that you often don’t know your friends as well as you imagine. Friends often agree on things in order to avoid an argument. They cover up their unpleasant qualities so as to not offend each other. They laugh extra hard at each others jokes. Since honesty rarely strengthens friendship you may never know how a friend truly feels. Friends will say that they love your poetry, adore your music, envy your taste in cloths. Maybe they mean it, often they do not.”

Yeah as men we don’t need a lot of friends but we need just a couple to talk to about the things that weigh on us occasionally.

Most men usually talk about sports, bytches, music, etc. and that’s fine. But you need a homie or two you can holler at about real life from time to time.

If not, there’s a high likelihood you get old, lame and emotionally isolated and either...

A. Join some pathetic homoerotic male brotherhood/bonding type group.

B. Shoot someone...strangers, spouse, family, yourself, etc.

The quality of my life would be severely compromised without a wide circle of friends.

And I LIKE being alone sometimes.

But my friends are amazing. Road trips to the mountains.
Having a place to stay in different countries. 4am conversations on the porch.

Getting “you can do it” texts. Spending entire weekends together. Getting with the nerd herd to do geeky shyt.

Mimosas and late breakfasts with the girls on the weekend.

Growing up with one another. Watching each other’s kids grow and raising them together. Never being alone unless you want to be.

Getting hard truths from them and hashing out personality flaws.

And dear Lord. The laughter. Just hours and hours of it. It’s a type of divine energy and one of the most beautiful, redeeming parts of life.
