Honestly, these Cyphers just showed me why all these so called "lyricists" are not as good as their fans think they are...

Basically, it comes down to "being in love"...When a girl is in love with you, you can shoot her with the CORNIEST pick-up line ever used, and she will be geeked for days...

The same thing is happening with rappers and their fans...Kendrick Lamar says something, and it's "oh gagagagaga King Kendrick"...If Papoose had spat the exact same bars, it would be "Not again Papoose, stop with struggle bars"....

Fans are actually IN LOVE with their favourite rappers...It's amazing...

I think that the ceiling for lyricism was hit in the 90's...No rapper coming out today will EVER impress me lyrically...However, I am not saying that rappers today are not as good lyrically as those of the 90's...In fact, I think they are JUST AS GOOD, and some are even better, but in my opinion, the WOW factor has worn off...

I just want a good delivery, by that I mean, if you talking about being a savage, I don't care if you are really a savage, but if you are going to rap about it, you need to conjure up that mentally and transmit it through your expression, so I can believe it...If you say you savage, and sound like you should be a schoolboy (Lil Herb and Lil Bibby), then I don' want to listen to you...

Rappers need to start going to acting and writing school (they are already characters and storytellers)...It will greatly improve their delivery and craft...Case in point, 2Pac, Drake, Will Smith and etc...

:ehh: Why not, its really slaughterhouse at its best. Their styles are catered to a forum like that....

I rather listen to their cyphers than the music they make and if they gonna continue to just try to out rap each on tracks rather than make dope songs, BET awards a good place as any to do it

I thought Crooked I probably had the best verse of the night..... :ld:

Crooked still the best lyricist in the west and never stopped being that....and that wasn't even crooked at his best,he seemed kinda laid back compared to his previous ones....Ortiz came hard to....Royce been corny and forced, and Joe mailed it in....I wouldn't mind seein a slaughterhouse AND Four Horesman cypher, winner takes all:ohlawd:

But iono,Cyphers is becoming like the NBA dunk contest by the looks of it....a lot of it is politics I'm sure, sumbody slid sum money to sumbody to get they artist on the cypher...all I did was watch the cyphers this yr and was let down....did they have a hall of fame inductee or is that the BET awards I'm thinkin about?

The problem with the cypha is they get a bunch of non-cypher'n rappers.
Rappers who never did shyt in a cypha and really not dope enough to really kills cyphas.

Yes, because they're the only one that will be guaranteed good, It was, again, the only cypher with no wack verses.

not if they gonna get another trash beat. I get its a classic break beat, but they shoulda got another joint to rhyme to. had they rhymed over shook ones instead, they'd prolly have a cypher on par with last years.
