I find him mega-corny and another cornball like J.Cole, but I'm not going to deny the fact that him and Cole treat their fans with respect. They never act like dikkheads to their fans, always engage with them, and that has led to them garnering an audience that will always buy their music. I respect the hustle, even if he's corny.:salute:

That FaZe Clan stimulus :wow:

I had to google that. :laff:

Modern 'hip hop' is about lames identifying with other lames. If you're a fake-deep and poppy lame, druggy lame, griselda lame, video game lame, backpacker lame, lyrical lame, stuck-in-the-hood lame etc. there's a lame out there for you.

Logic has been doing this for years. He built a loyal fanbase the right way, grinding out shows and really connecting with his fans. Same way Cole, Drake, Kendrick, Spitta, etc did. All those artists will have fans for life, even when they become less popular than they are now.

I'm not a fan of Logic's music but I respect his grind. And he's a genuinely GOOD dude. It's not his fault the Coli is full of people who don't really pay attention to stuff, then when they finally notice someone is popular wanna ask if he's an industry plant or is this a white takeover etc etc. fukk that. Dude earned every fan who bought that MIXTAPE.

Nailed it. I'm not a fan but he's clearly put in work. He seems to respect the culture and actually spits as well.

I dunno about this being called a Mixtape though? It's original beats and it's for sale. It's even listed under Def Jam on Spotify. I know it's all semantics but this clearly isn't a Mixtape in the hip hop sense.

All facts. He was able to leverage that alleged 30 million dollar deal with Def Jam solely because of this

He built up his fan base by playing video games on Youtube and rapping. Wasn't no fukkery or trickery, just a natural build up of a genuine fan base and I can't hate on the kid for that even though I don't like his music

Not running rap.... But just some good examples that it's room for everybody to eat .. Like Logic, G easy, Post obviously do good numbers. But they not getting play in the streets clubs or by most black people in general.... You no longer need that street cred or to get the hip hop community behind you to win.

of course its designed to be this way.

keep trapping brehs. :francis:
This mirrors the r&b situation with how we've abandoned traditional soul/r&b ballads for trap/club influenced singing. And white artists come back to get acclaim in that traditional r&b field.

But it comes down to us not supporting what we like. shyts gonna be like Jazz, all white artists.

FYI: I think logic is very vanilla & trash

its not fully on us. casual music listeners listen to what is presented to them. and the majority of music listeners are casual. if these labels dont want people listening to black traditional RnB acts they wont give em a lane. its people who blow sam smith ed shereen adele and them out the water vocally and with the pen but they dont want black acts as the face cus they know they can make more money with white faces.

if adele mediocre ass can sell close to a mil 1st week the “people dont but music anymore” shyt isnt on the consumers its on the industry for putting out cheap and forgettable products. its no coincidence that the sales declined as the quality did.

and i get pirating played a part but people signed to a label shouldnt be selling 15k first week. thats on the labels.
