A general level of tolerance is given to most human beings. Respect however is not so freely given.
A woman or whoever has to earn your respect. However I give respect but if not reciprocated then all bets are off

But even then I think there's a reason as to why that example was used in the first place. That's not on you as an individual though, that's social conditioning.

You should respect people as human beings. Regardless of their past if it didn't affect you then why be disrespectful? That doesn't mean you need to be with them or lower your standards.
I don't get this going out your way to be disrespectful to someone that has done nothing to you. You don't have to agree, condone, or praise someone to show them general respect as a person.
