Gimmicks aren't the problem. A lot of these guys & girls lack personality and charisma to pull off gimmicks. They don't carry themselves like superstars. Right now when you look at Nakamura, you see a star. There's no one on the roster like him. Jericho has reinvented himself many times to stay relevant.

That was the job of the Development Center but it's failing miserably. They created a big ass facility as a shortcut to time and development on the road to develop skills and characters but its graduates are largely green as fukk.

Y'all hit the nail on the head. the problem is a lot of these guys and girls are given gimmicks/characters instead of being extension of who they actually are and it shows more often than not.

However, if you actually sit down and watch the shows with kids they respond to most characters like I responded to Savage,Bret,and razor as a kid.
