most people in real life are console gamers. others prefer mobile apps like social media which is not a game. people think snapchat is like pokemon snap and the humans in real life are the pokemon

I think some folks notice it but it doesn't even matter to them. Like my boy built a PC, GTX 1080, I5 4690K, 12GB RAM W10 etc. Dude has a PS4. When he plays PC games(which isn't often ironically he plays on PS4 more), he just puts every setting on Ultra. I turned on his PC to try MGSV and that shyt was running at 4K/30fps. Dude cared more about how it looked. and this isn't a casual, I think he got all the achievements for it too. It's weird, I think we tend to think The Coli=real world and let it cloud our judgement.

I believe the amount of enthusiasts who fret over this stuff is the minority. That's not to say people don't care but it's just that we're often in echo chambers of other people saying the same stuff so to us it's a very important topic but to the majority of folks it's not a deal breaker.

I'm aware of this stuff consciously but at the end of the day I just play games man. If the game I like ain't 60fps I either play on PC or just play it like that. I'm not gonna skip a game because it ain't 60fps, that's just stupid imo.(On console at least. On PC it should be 60fps because that's just the nature of that platform it should be open.)

These days yeah, 90's/2000's, not so much. Plus everywhere you go, you're bound to meet someone who plays video games or who enjoys high def movies. I'd like to say "when talking to nerds" but everyone is a nerd about something so, it usually comes up.

My parents spent $1500 on a 60 in TV, paying monthly for HD box and channels, and didn't even know they had to actually tune into the HD channels

cause of the advance in tech, the majority of games look good by default...a dev has to try and/or fukk up to make a game look bad....so as long as the game runs smoothly and is clear, most console gamers dont care about the specifics....they're only used as a pissing contest to talk shyt....now with pc gamers, it's a different story...they actually care about that shyt cause that's why they building their pcs.....

the fact so many console gamers are starting to take it more serious shows how much the pc culture is coming into the console culture....
