Nelly a real hip hop head, shame he dont get the respect he deserves.

He gets about as much respect as his music commands I think. Personally, as a head, he knows his shyt and must be a huge fan but as far as his own music goes, there’s a lot of trash in there. I loved Coubtry Grammar and actually bought the CD before a lot of people down here knew who he was, cats finally started catching on when E.I. and Ride Wit Me were on the radio.

Just to play devil's advocate, if I may: if DOC never got into that accident, maybe other projects like Chronic or Doggystyle doesn't go down the way they did. May DOC would've been too "poppin'" to just write for those records.

The accident that took his voice was tragic because D.O.C would be considered one of the GOATS, but a lot of people seem to believe the D.O.C did have a second album.....

I also believe this album is Dre’s beats with mostly D.O.C’s writing.

Regardless of the urban legends regarding this album, I will say this... snoops voice and delivery is unmatched on this album. The only debuts that compare to this on that level are “illmatic”, “ready to die” “it’s dark and hell is hot”...
