Do y'all honestly believe working hard to succeed is c00n bootstrap talk? What other options are there?

OP doesn't understand privilege.

The privilege of going to a good private school because you have the right parents

Same private school that's a pipeline to ivy league schools

Which is a pipeline to med school, top 14 law schools, ivy league business (which is also a pipeline to ceo positions).

Yeah yeah yeah you can grind (which a lot of have) but their ceiling is a lot higher than 99% of the country. Rise and grinders included

I didn't expect this statement coming from a poster like you. If you want to go that route, what about the highschool and college drop outs that become rich strictly on their own, no outside help?

Most whites don't go to private schools or Ivy leagues. You don't need private school to get a good paying career. If we talking elite status? Sure. But just going to a decent college can get you into a good career field. And We can argue that high paying career could mean your kids have access to private scholl

It's all about luck

The only way you're lucky is if you put yourself out there. That's what y'all fail to realize. Go to different venues, talking to 15-20 every other day, emails, phone calls. And you NEED a good idea if you want to get somewhere. Then and only then will luck play a key.

Is the average person of other races privileged?

Don't understand the question. The type of privilege I'm talking about sets you apart from being average
It's really this simple. There is a direct correlation between education and success. Everyone else seems to understand this. College grads earn double that of non college grads over a lifetime. There are things you can control and there are things you cant. One thing you can control is getting as educated as possible to maximize your earning potential.

Successful doesn't mean privileged or super wealthy. Folks need to stop worrying about being a ceo and puff daddy and start worrying about the basics. Let's start with being able to raise your family in a decent neighborhood, debts paid off, good health, and making enough to enjoy life while still saving money for retirement. Folks cant even do that but are worried about trying to start a business or be a boss or how priveleged Timmy is doing. As a collective our priorities are screwed up.

It doesnt take private school to get into a state or community college.
And it doesnt take an Ivy league school to get an engineering degree, law degree, phd etc. You can get those from state schools.
And with those degrees you can still earn over 6 figures a year and be successful in your own right.
Literally anybody can do this if they decide to apply themselves. There is more access to education in America than almost anywhere else in the world. We got HBCU's that are begging for more black kids to apply. Just ask any HBCU recruiter and they will tell you. The door is wide open.

I have a computer engineering degree from the univ of Maryland. I get it.

I do well for myself but I also get that there's levels to this. A person with an ivy league psych degree will have more doors open to them than me. Ivy league MBA and law schools will welcome them more than me.

Where is black people supposed to be at right now economically

The government has a hand, but if there's 100 ways to become successful what are we complaining about?

Nope that's not how luck works
You can be born to wealthy parents and you are set for life. No hard work needed

There's always going to be a sect of Black folks unfortunately that think certain success is "white" or being a c00n. Best to just pay it no mind.

We do face bullshyt from all sides as Black folks but I also take the position that I won't go down without a fight for what I want

Breh if you start a business and make $30 one year, then $200k the next year, that's luck. And the only way that happens is if you got a go getter mentality.

We measure success differently. You're always going to want more

At the end of the day, the point is not being broke and living in the hood. Enough to pay for kids college and retire as comfortably. Everything else is just needless bullshyt.

Generational wealth would be nice, but that's a whole different conversation
