Get singles that are bangers and get booked for shows. That is the only thing that matters in this era. Billboard is not a factor anymore , trust and believe that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the reason the 360 deal became popular with record labels? Since albums aren't selling like they used to they getting their money through everything the artist does?Get singles that are bangers and get booked for shows. im curious how often this really takes place. why would pharrell do a handshake deal for producing and appearing on a 2 chainz album when he doesn't even have a project on the horizon? and knowing the industry, a 2 chainz verse in 18 months aint near what its worth today...which aint what it was worth 12 months ago. id want my money then and therethese verse for verse handshake deals cancel out what may have been a bigger budget
the thing is... these rappers lie all the time about how much money they're making off of touring...they still are under contracts & have obligations...
If u can't convince a fan to pay $10 to own your music what makes you think they'll pay $25 to see you live?
there's a lot of smoke & mirrors in the music industry & when artists albums brick where do you think their recouped money comes from...![]()
That's not necessarily true.
I haven't paid for music since 2007 but I will pay to see an artist I like. It's a good social experience![]()
I didn't buy big Sean's album for ten dollars but I saw him live for 35 dollarsYou're not the average fan tho... nobody on this board is...
No, what you said is wrong. You're not the average fan tho... nobody on this board is...
I know "average fans" and they go to shows all the time. Paying $60+ for some arena shyt is one thing. Paying $15-35 to see an artist at the House of Blues is something to do on a Friday night. It's cheaper than the club imoYou're not the average fan tho... nobody on this board is...
