Do y'all think rappers even read the papers before they sign a contract?

If you want a cut of the big pie you gotta play by their rules.

Make a hot album and the label wil drop it. Most of these people complaining about being shelved fell the fukk off

if that means getting fukked over than you better off indie. not ot mention they control what kind of music is being put out to the artist. u basically their slave artist then.

People in general don't read contracts. Not just rappers. Regular ass people. They don't read the contracts on the cars they buy, business deals they sign, or even their fukking cell phone contracts. You guys probably didn't read the Instagram or Facebook "contracts" when you signed up for your accounts. This isn't just rappers, this is people in general, across the board. A lot of the contracts are written by well educated entertainment lawyers who the average teenage rapper, dope boy or whatever is not going to understand. That is why lawyers exist brehs.....

And it's not that easy just being 'independent' no matter what anyone says. Some people are just artists, not business owners, A&Rs, accountants, all in one. Some people just want to rap and some people should just rap.
