somebody said pitcher...

margin of error is way less than a QB.. hell a QB can dink and dunk. What can a pitcher do? No pitch you can throw that you know for sure will get strike or ground ball.

Mariano Rivera basically had an unhittable pitch.

Pedro had 2 pitches. He was essentially unhittable. Seems like being an effective batter is more difficult than being an effective pitcher. If you can throw gas with a little movement, you will have a job.

A QB can dink & dunk, but how effective is he gonna be doing that? You can't win consistently like that. Brady can still gash you with deep routes, but a limited QB that can only dink & dunk aint gonna last long.

An athletic & gifted corner doesn't even need to understand the defensive game plan or what the offense is running.

It may be challenging athletically, but overall naw.

Plus the light may only be shined on him for a few plays a game.

All eyes are on the QB for every offensive snap. Requires both a mental and physical application to be really effective.
the challenge athletically to play corner are just as challenging as the "mental" to playing qb. the physical to playing qb is overrated because most qb's are not even exceptional athletically.

cb has a higher floor.

you can hide a poor starting qb. you have him hand the ball over 20-30 times and dink and dunk.

you can't really hide a #1 corner.

it's easier to throw in this era than ever before while it's harder to play corner now.

lol.. Im favoring the pitchers role as being harder than a QB's. I guess I should have said the pitcher has less room for error than a QB.

No one else thinks middle linebacker is the hardest position in football? IMO it's the hardest by far.

This a new day. How many statues are still effective in todays game? Brady like the last one left. The other ones destined for the IR, gunned up and clapped quick.

Truth is, you can't hide a "poor" QB. You will lose for sure. What happened to Jacksonville when avg ass Bortles went out? Dominant defense & great running back and still lost 9 - 6.
An avg QB can succeed if you're stacked everywhere else i.e. Jacksonville. But the same can be said for the CB position also.

Most corners are average in the NFL and can also be hidden if the defense is stacked at other positions or has a Great QB:mjgrin:

if you have a poor #1 corner, offensive coordinators will attack him all game. you either let him keep getting abused or then you have to rotate coverage to give him some help which leaves open everybody else.

you can hide a poor qb behind a good offensive line, good running back, and good defense. alabama been doing that for almost a decade until tua.

the broncos won a super bowl with :old: ass noodle armed peyton manning 2 years ago throwing for 141 yards 0 TD's 1 INT.

Breh, That's an all-time great defense. You not appreciating how great & rare that is. Most teams can't do that, that's why they go the route of finding a competent QB.

Yes I'd say QB is the hardest position. Especially in football.

LOL @ dudes in here that have only ever played flag football thinking that QB is that easy.

the QB needs to know where EVERYONE in the offense is at all times. They have to read the defense before AND after the snap. and they have to do that every single play every single time, while being the only player on the team that has to consistently worry about a pass rusher trying to break your fukking face.

Oh yea...and they have to execute as well.

and the dude that said corner is harder has no doubt never played. Corner is probably the most physically demanding player. and the player that requires the most athleticism and agility for sure. but that doesn't make it the hardest.

And striker? naw same with the corner, they are probably the most athletically gifted players and some times the most skilled players, but it's certainly not the hardest position in soccer.

and PG?? naw,

note: I grew up playing all three of those positions at various levels including high school and club soccer.

Got to be corner...

Being asked to keep up with a 6'5, 240 lb phenom that runs a sub-4.4 while back-pedaling at first and even if you're above average at your job AND you happen to get some help, this still happens to you....

CalvinJohnson2.gif

....and the rest of the time, you're trying to defend the run and you're getting trucked by 6'5, 315 lb behemoths with quick feet and Bruce Lee hands....

...and you're fighting through them to get to guys like this....

What's the race of the QB? If in this hypothetical it's a black QB then yes...lot more pressure than a cac who can be a career backup for a decade and possibly start. nikka QB is gone from the league. Word to Jason Campbell vs. Blaine Gabbert.:mjpls:

Have you ever played free saftey? That read and react is very difficult to do. It's multiple situations u have to be aware of at one time. Watching routes and who gets beat. Being a sure tackler in the open field - if a ball carrier breaks free. Its alot to it. Corners usually have help to the inside and over top. Safety is it.. If he messes up - a big play is coming. That position is nerve wrecking

safety is more read and react, corner is more difficult to play than safety.
