As I’ve grown and matured, I’ve come to realize that a half-sibling from your father’s side is not truly a sibling. If they didn’t come from the same womb and didn’t grow up with you, then you are not siblings—you simply share a father. Even a sibling with the same mother but a different father still counts as a sibling. It doesn’t work the other way around.This is why I’ve decided not to acknowledge my so-called “half-sibling” as a sibling—because they are not. We didn’t grow up together, nor do we share the same womb. Therefore, we are not siblings; we are barely related. We just happen to share a father. I encourage anyone reading this to consider the same perspective if you have a so-called sibling from your father’s side.
