They're still people just like anyone else despite their position. Just because they've mentioned enjoying Kendrick's music doesn't mean they don't enjoy Cole's. Multiple Hip Hop artists have met with POTUS too. It's likely he enjoys their music.

Cole is a lot simpler, not complex at all and less demanding. Therefore his fanbase consists of more kids, dumb thots, broads who really don't like advanced music (except Erykah) and people who aren't too smart.

Kendrick's latest album demands too much from the listener for it to appeal to street dudes with fried brain cells.
