One of my favorite things to do lately is tell people how foolish and outlandish they sound when they try to convince me god is real.
well lets address your example. lets say God does care down to the small little details about everyone's life. This is provided you believe in God at all. I just wonder where people get this impression from. I mean if I was God and I had a species I created with billions of people I'm certainly not gonna be sitting around micromanaging the details of billions of lives at an individual level. I mean God has to have more important things going on than Chuck quitting his job to start his own business because that's the supposed path chosen for him. Are people really that self-absorbed to think the individual goings on of their lives are front and center on God's agenda?
you're on to something but you're missing a key point.God, Providence, Fate all have one core principle in common:
that the actions by each person dictate their path.
Whether you believe in the Adam and Eve temptation story or Prometheus illuminating humans with the Fire of the gods.
The point is still the same:
Free will corrupts and ultimately leads everyone to their doom. This is the crux of being sentient.
It's my belief that prior to that hypothetical event, humans were ignorant like animals and simply existed completely unaware of how things worked around them.
Once you figure out that the environment can be manipulated, it could be argued that us destroying the world became an eventuality![]()
but society in certain areas/countries has evolved past religion/faith, so to speak. and yet they are not doing any better than we are.People need God to maintain structure in their existence and to make sense of complicated things that don't necessarily make sense. (Plus the idea of someone watching u will keep some maniacs in check to a degree.... although alot of stats say otherwise)
The training wheels will come off eventually. Which is why I slowed down on shytting on religion. It's like shytting on an elderly person who needs a cane. Just let em live for the moment. Inevitably society will evolve past it.
Your reality is just my game of The Sims. Are people really that self-absorbed to think the individual goings on of their lives are front and center on God's agenda?
there might be some being up there who created things (we wont get into what would have had to create that being)
Oh. About that.we have free will
Right now my ideal solution for everything is invincible strains of deadly fungus. Your planet used to be covered in fungus, you know. I kind of liked it that way.Imagine that you are God for a moment. What do you believe the ideal solution to that would be?
