I used to bring my own, because most gyms have inconsistent towel service, and the towels they do provide are quite small.
The last gym I joined has bigger towels and they are always available.
Using the gym's towels just makes things easier, as does showering at the gym. It's great, getting a good workout in, and being able to go out and do stuff, instead of having to rush home and shower

My old gym provided towels and that was nice, I just use the paper towels for my sweat now tho. Might start bringing my own tho.
