Do you brush your teeth before or after breakfast?

Had a discussion with my cousin and he was telling a story and mentioned how he brushed his teeth then ate breakfast. I stopped him like wtf!
He was baffled when I told him you are supposed to brush after you eat breakfast. You get the food out your teeth and your bacon and eggs don't taste like Icebreakers.

What about y'all? Do you brush your teeth before or after you eat breakfast?
