Since you just changed the definition? Everybody knows that ballhog has always meant players look to get their shot off and don't like to get their teammates touches. If you pass the ball then you are not hogging anything.

Threadstarter even says "that leads to an assist" So what is the problem with that? You're mad cuz they run the shot clock down?


If you feel like Rondo and CP3 are selfish players, or they dribble too much, or they should move the ball earlier in the shotclock...those are 3 different arguments. But that doesn't make them ballhogs...

I didn't change the definition of ball-hogging. Dominating the ball excessively is ball-hogging. Dribbling out 18 seconds of the shot clock; slowing up the game to a grinding halt and passing the ball in the last remaining seconds is still ball-hogging.

Everyone calls AI, Kobe and Melo type players ball hogs(which they are) because they jack up a lot of shots.

But, why aren't players that pound the rock for an extended amount of time and have to make the pass that leads to the assist not considered ball hogs too?

So obviously these nikkas dont know what u mean but i think i can see through it If u really meant them dominating the ball as much as they do i would say yes. Cp3 is a GREAT general out there and i would love to have him on my team but when hes not playing well his teams efficiency goes down as well. Them nikkas look lost. Same thing i say about Peyton Manning. Teams rely on them TOO much.

Rondo intentionally passes up open shots (that would be for the benefit of the team) to get assists. I don't know if ball hog is the right word but its definitely ALOT WORSE than A.I. jacking up shots trying to help the team win.

Hey dummy. Passing the ball so that teammate can score is the opposite of ball hogging.

I wouldn't call this ball hogging, but it certainly doesn't help the team.

And what's the difference in doing that and passing it to a teammate for a more difficult shot then melo or ai actually looking to score? They both are bad plays

Players are called ballhogs because they are selfish players.

Its pretty simple to only consider shooting the ball selfish.

If the player has to be the one that makes the assist he is a selfish player too.

Melo & CP3 both ballhogs, but for different reasons.
