The whole confusion surrounding who is Black, White, Asian is a perfect example why it makes more sense to identify with your ethnic group. When your identity is based on ethnicity instead of race no one can label you differently.
Afaik black usually meant black african or descended from black africa

People gonna ignore this. We got Indians and asians darker than us but we don't consider them black. Same context here
if human populations never stagnated long enough for certain traits to become common in different areas basically through inbreeding we would have to focus on something else to beef over besides physical appearance*

Melanesian is their race...and Melanesian means islands of black people...they aren't considered Asian since where they live isn't considered part of Asia and they aren't considered African since they are like 50K years removed...they are their own thing...
There descendants of Australian aboriginals (austreneans)
Which was the first tribe out of Africa but that been gone so long their DNA has changed and they have asian mixture. They are there own people.

Yes...but no...

In the UK...Indians and other South Asians were loosely called Black...

The indigenous people of Australia are called Black...and they aren't African descended at all...

Only in the USA where Black really means somebody from Sub-Saharan Africa...I mean...a native of North Africa that is Black...isn't gonna be classified as Black officially...they are Caucasian/Middle Eastern

There is actually an old South Carolina court case...about some slaves...from North Africa...they were Moroccan...and they got enslaved...and they were dark skinned...looked like a mixed race Black person and they petitioned for their freedom because they weren't Black like us

The term Black referring exclusively to people of African descent is a New World thing...
