Do you consider Oceanic/Melanasian people black or asian?

I brought this up for a good reason
I was watching natgeo on Tongan Crips.
And they look like light skinned black people that are kind of Asian but according to the documentary they consider themselves as black just like anyother nikka.
So do melansasians, get black passes in the U.S. or nah

Genetically we're (black Africans) much closer to Europeans than Melanesians because of how everyone migrated after leaving Africa. They sorta "look" like us but not really. Actually look more similar to the really dark Dravidian type Indians.
