The funny thing about the term afro-dominican is that their are no other terms for Dominican.
Mostly all Dominicans are 80% African an 30% spanish/native indian.

There are plenty of Dominicans that don't look remotely "Afro" in phenotype, just check out the DR parade in NYC for example. The average Dominican is less than 40% African based on most autosomal genetic tests. And it's even lower in the Central Cibao region. The term Afro-Dominican is useful to differentiate that black girl in the OP with Dominicans that are on the lighter end of the spectrum like this:

I've seen stats that's have significantly higher then 40%, and a NYC parade is a small sample size.

I don't know what studies you read, but most state the average Dominican is 47-50% African, not less than that.

But you're right that there are many Dominicans that don't look black.

Afro-Latinos had the same shyt happen to them, what makes them any less black ? Afro-Latinos & African Americans from the same African ancestors but went to different places

and for Mixed people, i feel that Mixed people should identify with whatever they are comfortable with. for example if you mixed and have dominant black features and feel comfortable with your black side and identify yourself as a black male then that's alright with me

like breh, Afro-Latinos or any other mixed person who has dominant black features can't say to the police, ''yo im half white it's alright'' or '' i am Hispanic''. no they can't cause to the police, they are just another nikka

I'm aware of the stats you're referring to. The percentages you gave in your other post are based on some old MtDNA/maternal tests that were conducted on about 112 people in a poor area DR (with Haitians included). The people in the Dominican parade would actually be a much larger and representative sample size as they come from the most densely populated areas of the DR, the Cibao region and Santo Domingo metro area.

Which ones exactly? Almost every autosomal test I've seen puts the percentage of the average Dominican as lower than 40%. This is just one example:
