I think so generally (moreso cognitive empathy), but I definitely have an off switch. Childhood kind of calcified emotional empathy from my emotional palette, for the most part, it’s blunted.
Not particularly but I'm becoming more and more empathetic as I ageIt's progressively easier to feel others' emotions
Yes I'm empathetic.
I also can be sensitive at times but I get over stuff very quickly.
Interesting I'm in the same boat but I didn't enjoy going through hard times and when i see others in the similar situations better or worse I feel for them.Probably not
I’ve been through alot of chit in my life.. sexual abuse, physical abuse, divorce of parents, domestic violence, suicide of my father, homelessness… through it all I ended up doing exactly what I wanted to do with my life and have a happy healthy family
When I hear about complaints or issues from people’s lives I find myself having a tougher time feeling bad/empathy for them.
My wife is a therapist and she will ask for my input on faceless cases or what I think, and some of their problems seem so trivial or pointless.
