I'm going in Friday for some general maintenance.
Wait. If you leave they take their time.
- Drop it off at the dealership 7AM
- Have the dealer's shuttle take me to work
- Uber back to the dealership to pick it up
I cant respect a man who doesnt know how to change a tire or change the oil in his car
Forgive me for the judgement but my dad was a mechanic
i only do maintenance, i don't keep cars long enough for major work. they aren't very quick on saturdays so i tell them i'll pick it up later.

I used to work on my car when I was into modifying cars but I can afford it to have someone else do it. This car has hella sensors and technology in it to do this myself
Everytime I bring it in. My appointment may not be until 2pm but Im not stopping my day for to take it in. I drop my car off the evening before or the morning of, get the courtesy vehicle and swap out on my way home from the office. The courtesy car is in my warranty so if they dont have one, they get me rental from Enterprise next door.
I live a few minutes away from the auto shop I go to for maintenance so if it’s something that will take an hour or more, I hop in a Lyft and go back home.
The independent auto shop I usually go to is literally like a 10-minute walk from my crib. So whenever they do work on my car that takes hours, I usually walk home & walk back when it's ready.
I can build 70% of a car myself if I have all the tools, cherry picker and a lift. But I dont have them nor the time. Got nothing to do with being a man.I'm a man....I work on my own cars
This right here. Waiting for anything is a breeze now.
Mechanics, Doctor's/Dentists appointments, Airport gates, etc....
So?
I mean look at it this way
If you WAIT
- Drop off at 730AM
- Wait for the car
- Techs are back there hustling trying to get the car done quickly and in the process are more likely to fukk something up while trying to rush and get it done under 3 hours
- Car is ready by 10AM (at best)
- Driving to work at 10AM and get there by say 1030 or 11AM
- You're late for work every time you service your car and there is a chance it wasnt done right
If you DROP OFF
- Drop off at 730AM
- Take the dealer's free shuttle service to work and get to work by 830AM
- They take their time and dont rush it and make sure shyt is done right.
- You get a call at 3PM that your car is ready
- Get a ride back to the dealership around 5PM when you leave work
- Your car is ready, been washed and the work was done well as they had time to do their jobs
Exactly. @skeetsinternal need to find a jumpoff near the dealership so he could go bust a nut while the car is serviced.
Back when me and my mexican jumpoff were on good terms i used to take my VW to the dealership in Marietta near her. I'd tell her about it and she'd tell her boss she's working from home. We;d spend the day fukking and then she'd treat me to lunch at them expensive mexican restaurants in the area. Then go pick up my car and back to her place and fukk some more.
Now that we hate each other we just fukk and then once we bust a nut we tell each other to fukk-off and get the fukk out. Where did we go wrong, Miche?
