Do you feel like lil Wayne is a top 10 southern artist from a musical quality standpoint

Having a discussion with my brother and potnas about this and i just can't see it. Aside from his influence and popularity to me Wayne is overrated. I know for sure I'm putting outkast, ti, cee lo, scarface, killer mike, ugk over him. I would strongly have 2 think about juve, luda, trick and few others. What yall think?

i understand where your getting at, but they dont have the combination of credentials or an overall strong point in one area whether it be discography/influence/"runs or era"/hits to even be in this discussion..

And i think juvenile has had some lowkey cold verses from the 97-99 solja rag/Hot Boy era, but he just cant be placed in this convo

Juvenile still has the highest selling and best quality album on the label that Wayne is on. Nobody who i named has been a flash in the pan rapper they have resumes. We all know that its allot of different varables that control the popularity of artist. Thats why my argument is strictly the quality of music. None of those artist have dropped albums as bad as some of waynes and they have drop some better than his best

This is completely true, which is why you'll never see me put most of these guys over Wayne in a consensus GOAT argument.

It's just that there are legitimately people with better music than him with only half the credentials.

Its like saying that a role player is a better shooter than kobe...You might be right, but kobe gonna gun and take 50 shots...

Only 18 might be quality shots, but they are still more than the 6 or 7 quality of shots that the role player took even if the overall quality is bad

When it comes 2 music quality is always over quantity atleast 2 me. Wayne got 1000 songs and countless albums and tapes but what's the point when most of them you don't care 2 hear after the first time. Id rather have music i can enjoy over time, i still play 400 degreez from time 2 time. I can't remember the last time i played a wayne album past the week it came out. Maybe a few songs here and there but that's it
