Was going to make a new thread, but I saw this one was already made.

I honestly think, that Achievements/Trophies have been a great addition to getting your money out of games. Especially single player games. I've put mad hours into action titles like Batman Arhkam Asylum, Arhkam City, Ninja Gaiden 2, MGR just going for the trophies alone.

I try to get the most out of my games, but my completion-ist nature tends to not let me break away from a game til I fell like I'm completely done milking it before moving on. That's why backlog has gotten swollen... and I rarely start playing a game unless I'm going to really play it to completion.

I feel like I do, when you break down the dollar per hour value on games, it's better than most modes of entertainment. Also, it's very rare that I buy games for their full $60. I often wait a while and buy for $35 or less new.

Depends on the game. A game that is a good length(15-20) hours of pure gaming nirvana with good replayability and unlockables/trophies are worth $60. TLOU is that example.
Flawless gaming for about 90% of the time and then on top of that getting trophies aren't so easy. Top that off with an actually fun MP and that's worth $60.
A game like Tomb Raider is not worth $60 bucks simply because the actual game is okay and then it has a tacked on horrible MP that adds nothing to the game. After I beat it I only started to play it over because I had a new graphics card.

Not with most single player games. If its good I'll get hooked and knock it out in a week or less. Then.... nothing.

There are exceptions but for the most part single player games ain't worth full retail.
