I don’t know really know. Maybe someone with moe knowledge on the topic can explain it.. I just didn’t like the vibe I got from that place, they clearly did it to offend.

Used to, but not anymore

Anyone who presumes that:
  • I only eat fried chicken
  • I have terrible teeth
  • I think of nothing but sex
  • I'd make them a single mother
  • I can't hold an intelligent conversation
  • I automatically know the plug
can dine out on a banquet of dikks. :ehh:

I also see a stereotype about blacks liking grape soda :gucci: so what? I love a grape Fanta :blessed: that and the watermelon soda in the green can (you’ll know if you live in Miami) are the only soda I drink...

I noticed it’s a stereotype about blacks loving fried chicken and watermelons :gucci: what’s wrong with liking those things? nikka I’m from Haiti (a hot ass island) and live in Miami (hot ass city) and eat watermelon damn near all year...am I supposed to be ashamed? :gucci: And don’t cacs own all 3 of the biggest fried chicken fast food places? :martin: They stereotype us and then make money off of that very product...And as always, c00ns not allowed in my threads :hubie:
I lived in the United States for 10 years before i found out about the fried chicken stereotype. I was probably 25 or 26 at the time. Truth is we dont have all these stereotypes about black people in predominantly black countries. We have our own, of course but that's a whole other story. But yeah it was weird to me when i found that out. The Fried chicken thing was after the outrage over a comment by Junior Seau made about Ladanian Tomlinson when the Dolphins signed Seau. At first i didnt get what the outrage was about and was like "whats the big deal. They used to lay together so maybe he knows LT loves fried chicken. "
Then this black american breh i used to work with told me about the stereotype and i and saw the racist aspect and had me like :ohhh: .

I was probably 32 or 34 y/o when i found out about the water-mellon stereotype. A black american breh im good friends with saw me eating a bowl of water-mellon in front of some white people at a restaurant we met for lunch (Golden Coral)
Dude was like "bruh... You got fried chicken and water-mellon oin front of you at the same time. You just set us back like 50 years, man!" :comeon: and I was like :what:
THen he explained the shyt to me. Never knew about it before that.

Thus why i say sometimes you cant be judging people for their perception of things and not being as outrages as you. Like in the islands we have this drink which is popular everywhere and it's fine but since in the US there is that stereotype i could see some black americans being offended by this while other blacks are like "whatever"

That drink is popular in Miami as well cause it’s a huge Caribbean population here and my yank friends always gimme that :mjpls: look when I drink it...the fried chicken stereotype has to be the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard :snoop: nikkas really let cacs make them feel self conscious about eating chicken? While cacs brag about creating KFC and Popeyes? :heh: Why do we even care? They serve fruit at my job cafeteria every day and I get watermelon every day not giving a fukk :ahh:
