I asked the organizer if there'd be a lot of women there and he looked at me like I'm the biggest creep ever... Why else would anyone bother with these events?

no. first off because my school is in north carolina and i live in louisiana so i'm not going all the way there just to go to an alumni event. secondly, this is a bigger reason, the school was more of a commuter school. what i mean by that is they had a campus and a big student population but most of the students were from the surrounding areas so instead of students staying on a campus during the weekend and enjoying what the university had to offer in terms of activities, a good amount of them would go home to their parents. actually, one of our chancellors tried to curb that attitude by creating more student activities to enjoy and pumping more money into our athletic departments and student events. students would be able to get free tickets to games in an effort to encourage higher student attendance during basketball, soccer and baseball games. she also made a couple of festivals to encourage more campus pride and get more students to be around during the weekends. but, because of this, a lot of the alumni events have never interested many people because most of the people that graduated from there never really cared that much about the school and never developed a sense of school pride. basically, even though i wasn't one of the types to go home every weekend, i never really developed any sense of pride for my school. i graduated, but that's all i really cared about...

I probably will when I get done. It's an HBCU, and i have a soft spot for anything Black. Especially with the connections I've made and the opportunities provided by the school.

graduated in 06 and haven't been back since. Location ain't really an issue since I went to school in NY and live in CT, just really no interest. I still chill with at least 10 people I went to school with, whether it be bars/lounges or sporting events, just doesn't happen at school.

Might be a place to meet new hoes

They have free alcohol :ehh:
Never.
I didn't really enjoy my college experience. It wasn't like an awesome experience and there's only one friend who I've kept in contact since.
All I get now are e-mails and letters to raise money for this and that. It's like I've paid my tuition and college loans, I'm not giving you any money.

I paid to go to College and graduate so the way I see it is if they want me to come back to campus then they need to pay me.

this....plus what I look like going back to Lawrence, KS for??? Paul Pierce don't do it and neither will I
