Yep. I work with ton of kids and they're bumping the new Chance. A lot of them bump TLOP and like Ultra Light Beam.

What would exactly "outside of the Internet" mean anyway? You never really know what's on people's headphones.

It's easier with kids because they're obsessed with obnoxiously walking around playing songs from their phones but I wouldn't expect everyone to do that in public.

I mean before we set this off I aint hating or nothing :whoa:

This aint even even about any industry plant shyt either....cause i think we all know what it is :jawalrus:

But as far as actually having a physical devoted fanbase in our communities. I was just reading some Complex article on the kid not signing no major deal and in the comments some chick wrote

"Thank God his father called him. Who knows what would've happened. Everything would be different. Thank you God, and Chance and everyone who played(s) a part in any Chance production, for letting my ears enjoy pure music."

Which got me like :comeon:, I never met NOBODY who listens to no chance the rapper. And I know a myriad of people in these streets. Ranging from 17 - 35. Ive heard cats bumping Thug, ppl bump Travis, lil thots bumping A boogie, shyt even youngin's bumping Lil Yachty. But NEVER have I EVER seeen or heard ANYBODY bumping this Chance The Rapper kid. So for him to be having this gigantic "impact" and "effect" on the culcha.....I find it quiet odd how none of this translates...offline. Shoot its damn right

"spooky" :mjpls:

I have and posters really need to stop this "real life " excuse....

Unless you are this omnipresent being that sees and hears everything at all time
how can that be taken seriously ?

He got namedropped by Drake of all people

1. I don't know anyone who is not on the internet.
2. What the fukk is "the streets"? Criminals? IG thots/strippers? If so, who gives a flying fukk about what they like or not, their IQ is genrally :flabbynsick::flabbynsick:.

I don't know why people always ask these type of stupid questions when it comes to rappers that are about positivity. No one ever asks these type of questions about Drill rappers, as if a majority of black people could relate to those fools.
You know exactly what the OP is talking about.

Gucci and Boosie were never talked about on here in the mid 2000s and were huge outside of rap forums.

Freddie Gibbs is talked about all the time on here as been really good but no one bumps his music at all in real life.

Drake is a villain on here and is what Jay z was to the culture in his prime right now.

Shall I go on here....

That was the mid 2000s and "on here" is irrelevant. This site does not reflect what's really good, trending topics, internet magazines, youtube, blogs, and even other (bigger) forums give a better reflection of what people are saying.

I agree this site sucks when comes to discussing music and whats relevant.

But the OP is clearly talking about hardcore hiphop heads that spend time talking music online vs people who just listen to rap and dont feel the need to discuss online with other heads

Seeing as his two releases have been free mixtapes, I can't imagine him having a large offline presence.

nikka corny either way.

I don't really hear his name mentioned, but to be fair I'm out of college and I would assume that's where his fans probably are, I myself will bump somebodies shyt if I think they are dope regardless if my circle feels him like that, but I haven't really listened to much of his music to form an opinion
