I deal with them till they get out of line.
Hate is a bit of a stretch, however I don't favor them very much, at the same time some have helped me more than any of these other "allies". But I never make the mistake of bucking for them cause one did something that benefited me on a particular day. They are shyt as a majority but the Spicy ones are far worse IMO, I don't like them at all.

I don't hate them. I do think people expect too much from these folks. People get upset because they don't know about Black Wall Street. That shyt isn't taught in schools. Who is supposed to tell them about it? Their parents?

People get upset because they don't go out of their way to end white supremacy. It benefits them and their children. They aren't going to go crazy and put an end to that regardless of their feelings and you wouldn't either.

It just sucks that we have to play the game and role in this country to get by and get along. I wish we had our own parties and groups that really fought for our own interests. But we've waited too long and most of us don't even trust each other like that from the word go.

And we don't like helping each other without expecting something in return. Hard to get ahead collectively like that.

There are a ton of exceptions of course but not enough to get to that fabled Get Over plateau I heard many older folks speak of.

this. This is were the frustration come in. People want to break out the matrix but everyone else want to get along or they want something instant. To me it’s gonna do downhill anyway.

:whoo:Whites conflate accountability with hate. In my teacher preparation classes I teach predominately white students. Mainly white female students.:usure: And I deliberately facilitate racial discourse with them b/c solutions exist in the discussion.

And we break down history. It’s painful for them to confront the role their ancestors played in damaging other communities. What happens is that white guilt can become so overwhelming that they just lose hope that they could ever be considered anything other than racist monsters to everyone else and so they just say fukk it and embrace it.

We talk about this process explicitly. I’ve told them they feeling guilty is useless and there are levels of culpability. The appropriate way for them to navigate confront the horror of the past is to first acknowledge it existed, acknowledge the long lasting effects of these actions, and have the courage to confront the power structures that seek to keep these disparities in place.

One of my students told me that it’s hard because doing so makes him lonely in that he risks alienating his entire family, but he knows their beliefs are dead wrong in a lot of ways.

I wish I could publish some of the essays a lot of them have written about some of the shyt we’ve discussed in class. It’s insightful.

Whites are humans like anybody else. But many have been corrupted absolutely by absolute power. It’s a difficult mental journey to unpack their collective role in the degrading of others and the ways they benefit and are hurt by systemic racist power structures.

I don’t hate them. I’m just honest with them about what needs to be addressed. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the number of kids willing to even go there and their responses. In my experience, it hasn’t been whites who were most resistance to acknowledging their role in inequity, but other racial groups and special interest groups. Had a guest lecturer come thru and discuss American immigrant appropriation of racism as a vehicle of power in America. Once he started talking about Asian and Latinos being footsoldiers in white supremacy there was a lotta:picard::gucci::mjtf:

damn. Very interesting.

:jbhmm:
I don't have time, desire, need to "hate" anyone. If I have any ire it's towards institutions and the specific individuals who prop them up more so than any people as a group. That said I keep my eye open for B.S.

...Also it's not particularly productive. "Hating" white folks isn't going to make a black owned school, hospital, business pop out the ground.

SIDENOTE:
I always assumed "cac" = "Caucasian", yes I now know it's Chris Rocks "cracka ass cracka" but by the time I found that out it was already firm in my head as short for Caucasian.
