Bad analogy. Pizza is food, we're talking about culture and music. The only gatekeepers to opening a pizza shop is probably the bank that's gonna make you that loan. If in the pizza world, the italian's owned 99% of the property that you could put a shop in and the banks, and were 70% of the consumers, then you wouldn't have a choice but to seek their approval because you couldn't run a profitable business without it.

But if I want to put hot sauce on my pizza, I don't give a fukk if the "originators" intended for it or not. I don't care if Luigi or Angelo think it's blasphemous to put hot sauce on a pizza... I'll put it on if my damn please cause that's what I like.

Same reason if a white dude wanna make hip hop music. It might not sound like Big Daddy Kane but he's just makin the music he wants to make. He ain't spittin in the face of hip hop he's infusing elements of hip hop to create something unique to HIM based on his upbringing and musical exposure. At least Cacklemore is a student of the game and appreciates the art form even if his music doesn't really resemble what the "originators" might have had in mind.

Christina's marked changed in style is well documented.
She went from mimicking Britney Spears with the squeak clean image
to rocking mid drifts and two different colors in her hair while swagger jacking
Pinks whole steeze.
She even got a well known Hip Hop producer to produce one of her singles.

I have more to say but I wanted to address this first.

I'm not sure how much of this is a calculated move vs young girls just getting turned out by fame. The shyt happens every single time, regardless of whether it's a singer, actress, whoever.

No I don't have a problem because it's free country ...if anything it shows their will to win and blacks will to be content with mediocrity.
Step your game up.

Every once important/credible hip hop/black cultural brand is dead, from Motown to The Source to Roc-a-fella to BET to Soul Train. You name it.

Market consolidation brehs. Read up on it if you care to understand what's happening. It's def :demonic:

I don't have a problem with it if it's something that I like listening to. A lot of them aren't really doing Hip Hop/R&B anyway, they just have Hip Hop/R&B producers and artists feature on their singles and albums.

So if a black man wants to open a pizzaria he should seek the approval of italian pizza chefs?

Better check wit the "gatekeepers" to see if it's okay to serve pizza with hot sauce on it.

If blacks didn't want other people messin wit hip hop they should have never left the block with it. :camby:

Pizza was originally BLACK

Nah.. its what it is. The problem I have is the people.. who put these rappers (some extremely mediocre )(*cough em stans*) on the highest of the high pedestals. "Greatest rapper of ALLLL time" nonsense.. thats just personal, because I don't do that.. there is nobody in a #1 greatest of all time god emcee best to ever do it blah blah blah spot for me because I just don't think like that.

**some people would probably get on me about em, and how other rappers cosign him.. I don't give a flying 747 fukk about their opinion on other rappers**

no, but just stop labeling pop/electro shyt as r' n b and we won't have no problems.

same with pop hop!! shyt is not hip hop!!

stick shyt in its correct categories and we avoid a lot of unnecessary headaches!!
