Out here in my damn drawls
Basically I'm watching the punk-ass Dr. Phil show (:whoa: trying to kill time before the NBA games start) and this Native American girl was adopted by a white family when she was still a baby. Now she's 2 years old and apparently her birth father wants her back and the tribe claims that she was stolen and their lawyer is claiming culture genocide and all that jazz. It's a rerun and I read that the father dropped the suit and returned the baby

Now, back to the question; Do you have a problem with trans-racial adoption strictly on a cultural basis?

Me personally, I think whoever is willing to take the child out of the system and give them the best, then it's fine :manny:

I think adoption is great, assuming the adopting parents aren't doing it as a way to milk the government of aid.
You sometimes read these stories of people who adopt 5, 6, 10 kids and have them living in slave-like conditions, all so they can get money for them. It's sad.

But generally, I think it's good. And I would definitely be open to adopting.

I will say, I was a bit irked a few years ago when I noticed that a large number of white people were adopting asian babies. Like they were buying cute handbags or something. I rarely see white people adopting indian, latino or black babies.

But that's just my impression. I could be wrong.
Maybe the race shouldn't matter. Helping a child is what counts. But I remember at the time, it didn't sit well with me.

There will be abuse of anything in this world. I do think there are more people doing it out of the goodness of their heart than for a paycheck.

Why I gotta be all that friend?

I call it how I see it, and until you and her bless my inbox, it's how it's gonna be.
