Do you know how to swim? If so how did u learn?

Was in Reno, I was age 4.
At the hotel pool pops was changin into his trunks. Ma went into change too, she told me not to do anything until pops got back.
She came out first and saw my lil ass swimin in the deep end
Yanked my lil ass out and got that whoopin when that shyt was the norm
Pops came back and heard the story and let me have at it within his reach.
They found out quickly I was just a natural swimmer
When we got back home they put me in classes at the YMCA and was the first lil breh jumping off the high dive

My mom put all her kids in those infant swim classes, then swim lessons every summer until I was like 6 or 7...maybe 8 too I can't remember. I didn't learn how to properly free style until like middle school. I knew the technique but it always scared me, how you have to breath. I was on swim team in high school.

I learned at Y summer camp when I was 10. Haven't been in a pool since, so I'm not sure if the technique stuck with me, or I need to learn again.

I went swimming in the ocean last year and I damn near drowned since I haven't swam since I was like 15.

My people are natural swimmers. It's in my blood.

But I did take lessons at a local park when I was a kid. I still remember that to this day. Going underwater and blowing bubbles to get your breathing used to being underwater. Grabbing the edge and practicing my leg kicks. Being scared of jumping off the high diving board. I miss swimming. I need to get back into it.

i dont want to take lessons as an adult...seem like it'll feel awkward trying to learn how to swim next to some 12 year old kid...while being a grown men....ill look like a sucker

Lmao. Nah it was a semi-private adult lesson. Just me and another woman.
