Life is absurd. Lean into it.
It'll splash out the top of the engine if you leave it on.
It would be extremely painful...for you.

yes you're suppose to leave the engine when adding oil. Make sure you do half/half water and oil so that way the engine can regulate the oil while its running.

Keep it on if you bout that Michael Jackson Pepsi Commercial life.I ain't finna pay no damn $40 when I can do this shyt myself. But idk do I do it when the car is off or on?
All jokes aside; there's almost (to my knowledge) nothing you're supposed to fix/fill, in a car, while it's on.Shyt I remember when I was 20 my cutlass was running hot, nobody told me the correct way to add water to my radiator. I ended up burning off half my face. But my moma gave me some type of silver burn cream fixed me back like new.
DO NOT run your car without oil
Turn the car off... let it cool down... jack it up and change the oil + filter
Odds are if you don't know whether to leave the car on or off... you should leave it to the pros
ive always had a love of cars, but this incident was the catalyst for me getting knowledgeable of em. 6mths later I was at ati in the mechanics class. All jokes aside; there's almost (to my knowledge) nothing you're supposed to fix/fill, in a car, while it's on.
Now, you need to let ur car run to check the oil levels, but, you only check the level while it's on.

You forgot to mention to add a 2:1 water mix to the oil.
