unless you hang around these guys for a good amount of time where you know them or know them personally before they were known, you can't speak about them on that level. that's the problem with this thread. you can't judge somebody for their music. i don't know rihanna enough to judge her. same thing with jay-z. i've heard from other people who have hung around them or met them from what they're like BUT that's not the same as me knowing them personally. you don't know them enough to judge them.
Damn it's so true. As a fan of music I don't understand how people support an artist who is basically shytting on you as a fan. It's too blatant. On top of that, these nikkas corny as hell.
It's bigger than hip hop tho brehs, it's where pop culture is right now since Kardashian, Jersey shore, and so on. People sympathize with these people who are desperate for fame, they identify with it, people really crave fame just for the sake of fame. Like I said corny shyt.
it's ALWAYS been like that and the fans are the ones to blame, making these people out to be larger than life when they're NOT. that's pop culture for you.

that's all well and good.....but when it comes down to it, if one rapper is a pompous piece of shyt a$$hole who happens to make music that sounds awesome in the whip and makes my head nod and another rapper is the most positive MC who has a great personality and loves everyone but makes terrible music, i'm listening to the pompous a$$hole without question.
music is entertainment, yeah it can be knowledge filled, theraputic and all that other stuff, but above all else it's entertainment, and i would rather listen to music that entertains me from a fukktard than music that sucks from an eagle scout

I met Mr. Lif....nicest guy ever, talked hip hop with him for about an hour, but ever since I, Phantom I haven't cared for his music so I don't listen to it
Like I said....this ain't match.com, it's music for my ears, fukk everything else, just make good music and I'm happy
