Dude did 2 things that I viewed as going over my head...

1. I work as a manager of a Virtualization Engineering team. Our job is to turn up virtual infrastructures. Because I management the group, you cannot get a virtual infrastructure built without my sign off, you are not even supposed to talk to the customer about it without me being their or on a conference call. Dude went and sold a virtual service to his customer, complete with a deadline, then came to me and was like "i need this by this date." Wrong, he doesn't set the date, I do. He doesn't dictate what type of virtual infrastructure they get I do.

2. Dude also went to my manager and wanted him to tell me to have my guys be on call for his new "critical" customers. My guys engineer infrastructure...we do not do break fix support on it. We build it, QA it, and turn it over to support. This guy wanted my manager to make us be on call support because he did not want to deal with tier 1 and 2 people who might take awhile to fix an issue, he wanted engineering support to get it fixed right then so he get's a gold cookie or some shyt. He never once talked to me about it, yet he is going to go over my head and tell my manager to get me to do it? No buenos. He royally screwed himself here because my manager hand picked me for this job so all he did was come and hit me with the "Guess what so and so just told me to tell you to do :russ:"

Due to how processes work here, when it comes to virtual infrastructures for the branch of the company I work for, I am pretty much the end all be all...there are plenty of c level people over me...but...our department makes so much fukking money and is such a hot commodity right now that none of those c level people want to mess it up...they are just sitting back all day doing nothing and rolling in bonus after bonus after stock option after company award....so since things are going so good...anytime anyone goes to them with a complaint, c level managers that tell them "ask duckbutta it's his group that does it" and whatever I say they are just going to go along with...so if I just decide to keep sliding your project to the bottom...yeah you are pretty much fukked...in the event that you decide to go to upper management about it...I got a list of projects we are working on that will make more money than yours...so when i go to upper management and say "somebody has to make the call on which one of the mulit million dollar projects we are going to stop doing to do this guy project"...they are all just like :mjpls:

This is some straight up ass hole shyt to do, I really hope I never work with someone like you...unfortunately people like you are all over corporate America :smh:

Edit: and I currentlywork in corporate America BTW.

I wasn't being an a$$hole at all...dude went over my head...he did it twice...i even called him on it man to man the first time...and this dude turned right around and did it again...

If he'd never try to blatantly circumvent my authority for his own personal gain, he would have been straight...but he tried to circumvent my personal authority twice...on some behind the back shyt...so he had to pay the price...the price was his job

People always make these post about making power moves and always network and it's okay go over so and so head...well this is the other side of it...the snake got caught in the grass...the snake got his head cut off and thrown on the trash heap

Aight, I understand he went over your head and was constantly doing that so you will want him gone, we all work with people we wouldn't mind seeing fired for whatever reason.

The issue I have is you sabatoging his work, If you were to go to your boss and tell him the issues you have with ol' boy and then your manager fired him, it's understandable, but to straight up sabatoge his work to get him fired? :camby:

Maybe I'm a different type of nikka, I can't play the snake role. Both of y'all did some snake sh!t.

Oh and networking above you/making power moves is not a snake move, sh!t my job even has seminars on this type of networking...It's called Networking above and outside of your immediate network.

What you mean by "Also NEVER let anyone outside the family know what you're thinking"?

Only my wife knows how happy/unhappy I am at my job and I know how she is...

If management knows you're happy then they may see no need to promote you/give you a raise... If they know you're unhappy they may let you go or also not promote you/give you a raise..
The work force is like ultimate chess.. you're playing against your boss and a 100 or more other employees and your also playing with them.. you need to be a team player while thinking about yourself..

look at it like baseball ... your personal stats affect how well the team does (if everybody is on their grind) plus your personal stats makes you look fantastic in the free agent market..

I usually say everything's fine..it could be better if communicate more as a team etc.. but usually not negative. I never throw people under the bus... and I learned a long time ago ... why complain because the people you're complaining to usually cant do anything for you.

but back on topic ...

You have to always be socialable with coworkers.. you never know who's who ..

I can never forget at my old job a coworker was going to be introduced to Mr. so-and-so.. the coworker then said who the hell is that..... mr so-and-so heard him ... turns out so-and-so was the president of the company..

He didnt get fired but when it came time for the first round of layoffs guess who was the first name out

Ah.. then it was justified. There's a difference between person trying to come up and one who tries to be slick and end up biting off more than they can chew.

Your initial post had me :pacspit: at first though :pachaha:
