I had to settle on a lesser gpu so I'm still on the 3080/90 hunt but I have no room to complain

i have a 1070 Ti in my pc.
got my old 970 FTW+ in my living room pc.
both are still beasts.
glad i skipped the gtx 2000 series and that
these older cards still pack enough punch
with todays games. fukk the 3000 series too.
i'm good for a while with my builds.

I have operated off of a pretty decently powered laptop for a few years, but recently built a pc and its one of the best things I ever did

13-forever laptop

only reason i switched was it was a gift and my ups kept failing and electrocuting me when i touch it

laptops are a bytch to fix
the cpu fan crapped out months ago, it stays in the 80 degrees, can't watch any video over 360p, can't watch 60fps video
there's a white horizontal line in the screen and multiple keys are missing from the keyboard
the original hard drive started making noises and crashing
can't run multiple tabs in firefox or the memory maxes out
these things are junk

I don't look down on folks with laptops though, especially students. I started out with a dogshyt compaq presario PC when I was like 10, then I was using laptops all the way through high school and college. Then built my2nd PC at the end of college. PC's can be expensive to build so can't blame folks for starting out with laptops. Eventually you gotta get a PC tho

I aint had a desktop since I left for college in 08. Laptop gang since then. I'm always on the good and need it for work

Might get into desktop life for more gaming and media editing tho

I have a desktop because it's what I'm used to. There are some things I cant do hovering over a laptop. I have both now though.

But the desktop I have now is cheap. It was good for basic stuff, but now I'm trying to make some moves and my computer keeps whining and crying if I try to open chrome and another application at the same time
