Do you plan everything on a trip or just go with the flow?

We plan everything out, but the plans are fluid and more of a fallback than anything. We only wind up doing maybe 25% of the things we plan. The only things etched in stone are like restaurants that somebody absolutely must go to and actual events (concerts, plays, festivals, etc).

Both. I plan and go with the flow but rest assured, I will get the most out of my trip. Believe that. I'm an adventurer which prefers to travel around solo. I love traveling alone. If anybody wants to travel with me, they have to be prepared for anything with me because I adventure for real. Otherwise if Im traveling along with someone else, im usually trying to work with them but its not as fun for me because I usually feel trapped and like the person I am traveling along with is slowing me down or I dont feel like doing what they are doing. At that point, im usually driving them around or keeping them company because they dont want to travel alone.

I like having a detailed itinerary. When I travel, I want to enjoy the new place. I research the local tourist spots, and places I want to see, and I go. What’s the point of going somewhere, and you don’t know all your options? You can miss a lot of things by just walking around. This is why I stopped traveling with groups. I don’t care for laying around next to the pool all day either. You’re just laying there. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a manual labor job, or don’t hate my home life, but I hate sitting around on vacation.

Procrastination is a major flaw for me. I have a flight tomorrow and haven't even planned how I'm going to get home from the airport or if i will get a rental car for getting around in town or borrow someones car smh
Analysis paralysis is a mfer
But God got me :blessed:

I plan things out somewhat meticulously. Had a PAWG girlfriend for 2 years who had to have every detail planned out for vacations and outings. I saw the benefit of it though and we ended up going on a lot of fun adventures. After we broke up I took what she taught me and have been executing fun solo trips since then.

It truly is best to have things planned out honestly. Going with the flow often leads to a boring and wasteful vacation. Like another poster said I hate those vacations where you lay around and do nothing. Waste of time.

Yall have convinced me that a bit of planning is good.

My only hang up is the bar crawl he signed us up for…in New Orleans. Like breh let’s just walk the strip and see who has the baddest hoes :dahell:

Breh you'll have far more fun on a bar crawl. Are you kidding me? You meet women at the bar crawld who will go to the same places all night that you go to, instead of being losers who aimlessly walk the strip trying to figure out where to go. I did a bar crawl for Halloween 2024 in Scottsdale Arizona while I was solo vacationing and met people that way. Trust me the bar crawl is the way to go. You will have a blast.
