I used to be really into texting, but recently I've evolved over to calling, despite how much I hate being on the phone.

This is how I judge a few things. I hate being on the phone so if I can get to the point of being comfortable talking, it shows me we have a connection. Plus I call when they're at home. Let's me hear if it's a bunch of people at the house or if she lives in peace. On the phone you get natural reactions and instant feedback.
