Do you really save money going to Costco or Sam's Club over the local grocery store?

Just at Costco today. Rotisserie chicken still decent. Bought three 600ml vaseline coco lotions for $12.97. Those are usually $10 a pop for one. Costco makes sense. We get all of our diapers there. If our daughter some how ourgrows then, we bring the unopened boxes back and change them.

Got a coworker who swears by both of them and says he'll never shop at a grocery store because they "have so much deals" buying in bulk

I really haven't been in a Costo or Sam's Club in over a decade when I was a kid, and the one time my friends wanted to shop and I tagged along. I been thinking of getting a membership or whatever they require to shop there

Do you really save money buying items in bulk or is it a scam and not really much of a difference?

On certain items yes. Some of the bulk products have gotten more expensive on a per item basis lately though

Always do the math so you can get the best deals

I have bunch of kids, absolutely worth it. Go once or twice a month

Here's a quick example , at my local grocery store large avocados are $2.50 each. I just got a bag of 5 large avocados for $4 at Sams
