Same here.I rep the American flag!! Bruh if you’ve never left USA you don’t know how fortunate and blessed you are to live here. America ain’t perfect but it’s the land of opportunity for sure.
And no disrespect to any non Americans but yeah you see Africans with their flags in their bios, many Caribbean folk too but they never go to those places to live… very rarely move to their “homelands”… if anything they use their American status and money to visit those places or set something up which most don’t.
No country is perfect but I really learned to appreciate the opportunities, structure, laws, rules, some systems, some of the culture, history, blk history etc.

What you mean "overtook it"?I used to love it until rednecks and White supremacists overtook it. I got family members and friends in the service, so I always repped them.
But I remember this one foreign chick I was with saw a car with our flag and say "Oh they must be Trump supporters, I'm scared"
That shyt was incredibly embarrassing. The stars and stripes across the globe became associated with White supremacists. I didn't even know what to say
