You damn right I respect my pops. I :salute: that man. Him & Moms both. Now that I'm older, I see & understand the type of sacrifices they made for me & brothers. It has me :to: at times, because I wish I could do more for them & repay them for everything they've done for us. If it wasn't for them, I know would not be the man that I am today. Their guidance is what kept me & my brothers on the straight path.

Me and my wife ALWAYS talk about this when we talk about our parents. It amazes me how much they invested in me and my sisters growing up and made sure that we always had what we needed. :to:

One more thing that's a cliché but so true, you don't realize he was right about many things untill years later. First after striking out on my own, later more since i've been taking care of my cousins these last 8 months. I get overzealous a little bit but it's to keep things on track and keep everybody making progress and maintaining the good they already have. I used to think he was too harsh at times but now i see the why and the how.

Puerta Medusa.
My dad is my best friend. Call him for advice, just to talk, he knows most everything about me. Great memories.

Showing me how to shoot as a teenager. Letting me test out his crossbows. Buying me knives and little trinket weaponry, collecting comics and going to comic con together. Love my father!

did he have an illness? how did he know?

Complications from a brain anurysm while working out. He had open heart surgery three years prior to that so even though his death hit the family hard, we were prepared for it. If he passed before the surgery in '95, I doubt I could've handle it as well. He worked out 4X a week, standing at a sculpted, 5'8" 170lbs. Being a C.O. @ Folsom Prison , but he had horrible eating habits. My mom used to tell me how she was :mindblown: @ how he would cook things in grease while they were dating. He learned better after the surgery, but old habits from childhood are hard to break.

Whats crazy is that he videotaped my birthday six weeks prior to his death and I still have the footage :wow:
