If Dan Campbell crazy ass keeps this up and goes on a SF Shanahan type run without winning one I can see just because him and Holmes make the Lions functional
Absolutely not because anybody could get hot and win one.
What is more impressive, McVay winning one super bowl or Levy coaching a team to 4 straight? Levy didn't win one but he put himself in position to win 4. I think there is a 0% chance McVay could ever get to 4 straight super bowls. Not patient enough and doesn't strike me as the type of coach who can keep a group of players that focused for that long. I am way more impressed with Levy getting to 4 in a row than with McVay getting to 2 and winning one.
coryell is responsible for the modern NFL offense-Coryell and Allen are the two here I don't really get how they are in, but I'm open to listening to arguments. I get that Coryell had some lasting impact with his offensive scheme and that he had support of former coaches to get in, but doesn't seem like someone that is THAT worthy of the highest honor
I'd put Dungy in off of winning a lot of games in addition to the SB win/multiple appearances/turning around two franchises. It's funny that it's referred to as the Tampa 2 when Dungy himself said he was simply running the same defense Bud Carson ran in the 70s with the Steelers.Every coach takes the job to win apart from The Cowboys HC.
I know he eventually won in the end with another team. But Dungy's Tampa 2 has a greater impact on the game than Gruden winning the title with them. So even if Dungy didn't win a SB he deserved to be recognised for how he helped evolve the game.
Great questionDidn't realize it before this thread - how is Mike Holmgren not in ?![]()
