Do you see any evolution in the standard radio single?

What makes a song a radio hit in 2013, have you noticed any evolution that has become a part of what comprises a radio hit in 2013 compared to 2012 or 2011. I feel like there's been significant change over this period of time

Youtube has replaced the radio...

I only listen to talk radio (no music)...Youtube and The Coli is where I am getting exposed to all the up and coming rappers...

Can somebody tell me how large of a demographic this guy represents? Say there's 10,000 members on this site with some large percentage of them sharing this same ideal. Multiply that by however many sites share similar membership statistics. How many people are going about their day solely on the internet without as much contact to the actual world, it's like y'all are already signed up for virtual reality

I am always in contact with the "actual world"...I work full time and I am a full time student...I am only on the internet when I am home, and it's usually before I go to bed...

I live in Canada...In a rich people suburb...So, I have no "streets"...I have NEVER heard a car driving down my street playing loud music of any kind...

I love "street music" and all you get on the radio is "lets be happy and party music"...

If it wasn't for this site and Youtube, I would have never been put on to Chief Keef and drill music, I would have never heard about Roc Marciano and the "Marcberg"...So, the music I want to listen to is not on the radio, and if it makes to the radio, all the way up to Canada, then it's probably your typical "no edge" music, so I don't care...

It's not just music either...I don't do any business with any company that does not have an internet site...

radio has been taken over homosexuals who are trying to hypnotize the youth with gayness. radio = gaydio.

By that same logic, has the radio hypnotized the youth in the past with other :demonic: subject matter?

I am 45 minutes from Toronto...

But even in Toronto, they are not up on Chief Keef and the Chicago Drill movement...The only time I felt like Toronto was really up on something was the Dipset Era...

I lived in Scarborough for like 2 months, by morningside and West Hill Collegiate, and that was as ghetto as I have ever lived, but it seemed like dancehall was dominant (at that time)...

There isn't any "evolution" going on, but you're seeing more atypical singles gaining steam on the radio cause of their presence in the clubs and streets.

you don't really have to actively to go out and make the "radio hit" to get a radio hit now.

I was in the car with a coworker today and there was this new Sean Kingston song on "let me hold that" or something like that. Hate to be this person, but it was absolutely unbearable :snoop:

Radio music is unlistenable.

Pretty much...Lil Reese's "Supa Savage" wont leave my mp3 player...

What else is there in terms of 'street music'...? All hear people talk about is Drake and Kendrick Lamar...I am not into that kind of rap...

I like my music either violent, dark (depressive), pain...I need to hear some kind of struggle in the music...Because I am working full time, going to school full time, sacrificing friendships, my time and etc in the hope of being somebody one day...

I don't want to listen to simps, and loverboys, when I feel like in a psychological hell right now...I need that "savage" music...

You need to hear some kind of struggle in the music and you somehow
linked Drake and Kendrick musically
:mindblown:
