Well, if you used Hubble's formula: v = Hd where H = 72 km/s and divide 1 mega parsec by that you'd get close to the age of the Universe. About 14 billion years old. Nowhere near a trillion years.

Yea I saw that trillions and was like :dahell:

On another note, why every atheist think they're a science buff?

Why can't u just not believe in God? Why does science always factor in?

Especially when a lot of y'all favorite scientists were not atheist?

Somebody explain why black people are in the position we are in and how that pertains to an existence of God?

We seem to be the most spiritual people but we are the most fucced up for some reason.

It is my own personal belief that Blacks are naive and have a child-like approach to religious thought.

Religion is a peoples identity, and God is sort of a guide through a troubling life. An entity people aspire to be so they work towards that end.
Every other religious people believe but also work diligently to control their land and acquire greater power. We don't do that in America.

We'd rather wait on God to make our lives better, and punish our enemies. Black people forget that we are also supposed to work for what we want and need.

It always brings me back to the parable of the 3 servants all given some silver by their master. Servant 1 invested the silver earning a lot more, servant 2 worked earning more silver, and servant 3 decided to bury the silver. Servant 3 did nothing with what he was given. He could have done a little but decided to be lazy instead.

Whether we think it or not we do have abilities, we can invest in Black businesses with the little money we have, we can educate our young and help them grow. We can do a lot of things right now. But we don't, we don't even bury our money like servant 3, we give it away. Giving it away for immediate pleasure.

As the saying goes, you reap what you sow and we haven't sowed anything for the past 60 years.

There is an African proverb that says, "pray and move your feet". We are too busy praying and doing nothing.

As per the topic, yes I am a believer. But I am also pragmatic.

I don't normally participate in these debates because they are pointless, especially since I know God is real.

What irks me is when people blame the Creator for things man does, like the dude saying children are dying of starvation. God didn't do that, man chooses to allow these things to happen. We received irrevocable free will, the same way we can have children that can grow up to do horrible things or amazing things beyond our control as parents, is the same way the Creator allows man to do as we please. He set rules down for mankind just as we set rules down for our children, yet in the end free will is what reigns supreme.

The Eden lesson was a prime example of free will in action, the Creator set man up in a perfect environment in an elevated state of existence with only two rules to follow. Man fukked that package up, there was nothing the Creator could do but plan accordingly while letting man live out the consequences.

God deals with individuals not groups. Truthfully quite a few of us are in certain positions because we choose to be, probably the only group without positive cultural unity, and that has nothing to do with God.

Also, seeming to be the most spiritual doesn't mean much. Many people seem to be what they aren't. I know PLENTY of believers who are prosperous in many aspects of life, they've decided not to WAIT on God and put the work in behind their prayers. You're not suppose to pray and sit idly waitin for God to make change. That's where people get it twisted. You have WORK if you want something, but you can and will get blessings at the drop of a dime too.

What makes us the most spiritual how do you even gauge that.

I believe in God, I just never talk about it. With atheists I associate with, they always want to prod me with questions or debate me thinking they can dissuade me of my beliefs.
They can't. I am quite solid in my belief in God. So I don't speak on it unless someone wants to know.

Houston to LA like I'm Robert Horry.
Just you waking up to read this thread or go outside at anytime is proof enough for me that there is a higher being. A being or beings that go beyond what our human minds can even comprehend. Now the idea that this being has any sort of influence on our daily lives is questionable at best. I think the scientific idea that this stuff just got here one day and just happened to work out perfectly for us so we can sustain life is naive and laughable.

Black people take the all or nothing approach with religion which is crazy to me. I think religion is bad for us. Asians said fukk all that and they're successful.

Every atheist doesnt claim to be a science buff and i have never had a atheist come up to my door. Science gives alternative answers to the the same question answered by religion but unlike religion tries to gove proof. Atheism was and in a lot of places is still very taboo. Scientist in general are still less religious.

Im meant in biblical times people like you who didnt believe in G-D wanted proof and he showed them he existed.

They still chose not to believe in him despite what they saw. People will never be satisfied even if showed himself today.

Why should he show himself knowing it still would not be enough and even if he did after a certain amount of time went by people would eventually doubt him again .

Why doesnt this "perfect being" show itself at all times? Why does he have to be hidden?

God is not hidden at all...

Free Will is a misunderstood concept...

Parents allow children to grow & know themselves by not having to be present at all times. If a parent were with a child 100% of the time the child would only ever act a certain way because it's constantly in the presence of the parent. The parent gives the child Free Will by allowing it to experience life without the need for constant monitoring & to know itself to become itself however the child is free to seek out the parent should it choose.

This is coming from someone who formally dismissed the Bible completely. Jesus stated that God is willing to meet any who seek him out in their own "Temple" & that the Kingdom Of Heaven is within.

Wanting to know the truth I practiced Meditation & Astral Projection for over 2 decades. When I was in High School my friends were busy chasing girls & out all the time trying to do & be things that make people "popular" while I was sitting at home studying every religious, marian apparition, metaphysical & spiritual phenomenon that existed because I was seeking answers to life that most question but never sought out. Existence had to completely make sense to me & I couldn't take any man's word on anything no matter what man-made status (The Pope, etc) they were given by the same batch of men who've done horrible things in history based on their "beliefs."

I studied EVERYTHING... Hermetics, The Hidden Gospels, Fatima 1913, Aliens, Ancient Egyptian Magic, Garabandal 1960... everyone from Jesus to Dion Fortune to Edgar Cayce to Paul Solomon, Robert Monroe, Plato, Buddha, The Kybalion, Aleister Crowley to Seth. If someone claimed to have knowledge of a Higher Power I studied them with complete skepticism unless they provided a method of proof. It's one thing to study... it's one thing to believe... it's another to test what you've come to study.

I noticed a pattern in all historical religions, all times from Eden to Pangea to Lemuria to Atlantis to Egypt to America. A pattern in all religions & spiritual teachings... so I put it to the test. Seeing for me is believing & experience cannot be denied.

I learned to Meditate... deeply... able to completely remove all awareness of the Physical in an attempt to pass Consciousness to what has been taught as the "Internal Worlds." After years & years & years of trial & errors, skepticism & frustration I finally gained the knowledge but more importantly the UNDERSTANDING to be allowed to as the Bible says "Sup with God."

Through Meditational Methods straight from The Kabbalah & years of learning to remove all physical senses & completely emptying the Mind... I found myself in another Dimension, another Reality... just as physical as this one. Not a dream... nothing Astral Projection could ever mimic... just as PHYSICAL as this World. There are no words to describe it, no artist could ever portray it & no poet could ever give the beauty of it justice... & that's when I heard the Voice...

"It is I, Do Not Be Afraid."

People love to question God & life but how many of them honestly devote or dedicate themselves to it? Then wonder why they have no answers...

My favorite writing of all time will always be The Gospel Of Thomas... in it I found Truth...

Jesus said, "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all."

So.in your opinion should we punish our enemies ourselves?? Does that not go against the Bible??
