Do you think Hov doesn't want to drop another album because he's afraid his sales will brick?

Hov can't rap about anything heads followin' him since the 90s can relate to.
4:44 was great for Hov rhymin' 'bout bein' grown and reflecting on his past, retirement is best for dude.
Get out the rap game, and move on.
We don't want a second 4:44.
Job done.
444 was overwhelming majority about current issues

Why you think he didn’t put his name on the Jay Electronica duet

444 sold 262k its 2nd week
Didn’t have a traditional first week being it was exclusive to Tidal and gave away 1 million. Not to mention it was the 2nd most bootlegged album that year only behind Drake. The album double platinum now. Mind u jay z never had an album that launched day and date with streaming. 444 got on Spotify years later. 99% of artists would flop without Spotify. But not Jay

Jay easily doing 250-400k

Being 444 didn’t have a first week

Jay last lowest selling first week was in 1998 with vol 2. The was the last time he sold under 400k first week. 25 years ago

:mjlol: Bro, we know you love Jay-Z, but, that was on the back on huge divorce/cheating drama and behind Beyonce's whole rollout.

4:44 was basically the sequel.

I'm not one of those "Jay-Z is only Jay-Z because of who he's married to" types, but, a new Jay album ain't selling 250k-400k.

Nas has attempted to be “radio friendly” he’s just not as good at it as Jay Z. The fukk you think the trackmasters were on IWW for? :mjlol:

If these Jay Z albums haven’t ”stuck” what do you say about all these Nas albums that have completely bombed:russ:

You worrying about sales, while Nas has put out great albums :wtf:

No two rappers ever promoted "sales" and "awards" as the metric for greatness more than Jay and 50..

That's why when Drake eventually passes Jay as the mainstream consensus for GOAT he only has himself to blame.

Hov has so many business ventures directly invested in his continued success that he will NEVER release a “flopped” album sales wise. He’s already shown what his blueprint is. Have a company purchase a million copies so he’s “Platinum” week 1 and gets simultaneous praise for both the music and the BUSINESS of the music.

Its quite ingenious really, can’t hate.

I think the reason he hasn’t dropped an album is because he hasn’t been INSPIRED to. Its really that simple. He’s at the point now where, similar to Nas, anything he releases is to further his legacy and run up the score. He’s not going to just drop some bullshyt for the hell of it

First Jay released the Beyonce LP and then the Jay Electronica along with other features with Khaled. So it's not like he hasn't been doing anything. I think Jay-Z is too calculated to flop. You guys haven't been following his career if think he would ever flop at this point. Not happening. He will pick a specific date where it will lock him into the #1. Also the album will be Feature heavy. Probably some Youngin's, J. Cole will finally do a Jay-Z feature out of nowhere. There won't be any Tidal exclusives so it will be on all platforms. Also we do not know what other corporate deals or packages Hov will have for the album like he did with his last two. There might even be some Vets like Nas or someone. Also Jay was smart taking time off. It gives fans a chance to miss you. The other albums weren't really Jay-Z albums he was on. It's already been 6 years since 4:44. So he's given it a nice gap of time. With that said, I won't be shocked if we get another Beyonce joint LP. "Everything is Love 2". or something.
