I mean...it really doesn't matter what people want to think.
All living beings on this planet are classified as either plants or animals. If you're alive and not a plant, that means you're an animal.
Humans (homo sapiens) are the direct descendants of other primates. We're the most intelligent/senient mammals, but it doesn't make us any less mammalian.

Idk, whales, dolphins and elephants are pretty intelligent too.

What is we are just the most self-absorbed? I mean look at all the wars and ways we are destroying the Earth.
