Do you think Obama speaking directly on Trump is just going to charge up the Republican base?

I thought about it and I think this is pretty much the ideal situation.

Let Obama shine. Let him stand up front and center. Sure, maybe it will backfire among the racists. But the MORE he is up there in their faces deep into the Trump Administration, the MORE people see the undeniable difference between a brilliant conscientious Black man with human socialization and that stupid-talking orange buffoon with no moral center, the better the position against the racists is.

Maybe there are some principled Republicans who disagree with Obama's policies. Even I disagree with many of Obama's policies. But no one without an extreme racist edge or a mental disorder can still deny that Obama is a better man than Trump. Every time Obama is on television with his own platform, every time Obama speaks his own words, it forces them to remember that they elected the dredges of the human moral wasteland to represent their party and that the Black man they previously hated is their man's better in every meaningful way.

I don't even care if it energizes the racists. Forget them. It's only the moderates/centrists/rational people who are worth speaking to anyway, and every Obama appearance increases the cognitive dissonance that they are forced to live with. Pound that message in.

all this time I thought that was why he wasn’t saying more

Them muffhuggers are already 1000% in

The only hope to topple them is - for the ones who wish him to be gone to

vote every time you are allowed and oust every repub you can

There's other things that can be done, but voting doesn't in any way oppose your other plans

So forget about the Nazis. They are already on 10. 11.

We gotta get all these lethargic, contrary people - that have good reasons to oppose fascism - up outta that loveseat.

Stop listening to conservatives and libertarians about what Democrats should do. Look at how much of an impact a 1 hour speech had on teh whole political narrative. The notion that Obama should shut up and hide under a rock is a conservative's wet dream.

It's about re-energising young people into the process, which Obama is probably better at doing than anyone else. While he was in power the apathy can be understood.

Now folks have had two years of Trump, and you can bet Obama helps fire young people up.

If they come out in numbers it won't matter what the conservatives do. They are the catalyst for the blue wave.

My mom's husband thinks Obama shouldn't have said anything because it's going to rally the bigots to vote out of spite for Obama. Especially when Trump uses Obama to get people to vote. He sees it backfiring on the Democrats.

I don't see it that way. I think the young people and the moderates will overtake them.
