Being proud of black culture isn't a trend and it isn't something that should be exclusive to black people. Anyone who uses black culture as a prop to look cool isn't a good example of a productive member of the black community.

I think an increase in the mentality towards long term investments and protecting your financial assets for you and your future generations should be the takeaway from all these movements. Not dictating which race gets to rock braids, fades, Jordans, and say the n word. Don't get me wrong that's important but its hard to fight a battle when you have debt up your hairline and barely scratching a living. Start figuring out what you're good at first, and try to have some sort of side venture that you can past down to your kids. If one of your kids has a remarkable talent or interest in something then SUPPORT him/her cause you never know. Look to living in black neighborhoods, and always practice a mindset FUBU instead of trying to adhere to white standards. Unplug from the mainstream. Don't promote TV shows that don't promote black people, put black superheroes/dolls in the household. HOMESCHOOL your kids, or put them in a diverse private school, no other options. Closely screen outside friends of your child make sure they have a community of black kids within the same age they can hang out with.....list goes yada yada. I think one gripe I have with this whole movement is the need for acceptance. Like I'm starting to realize the need for acceptance does not mean a damn thing when you have your financial arrangements in order. Pursue the money first ( via STEM or finance jobs ) THEN worry about John and Kate inviting you to their friends birthday party and people asking to touch your hair.

Well hell if enough black ppl try and fail, some will suceed, and thts good enough.
This is exactly the dynamic that we already have though.

i realize tht about 85% of nikkas (men & women) who call themselves "conscious" and "woke" dont really care about blacks controlling their own, they just want a bigger piece of tha white man's pie. tlwe are so used to being supported under white infastructure, tht we cant even imagine living, let alone thriving in a community with our own ppl controlling the reins. we get legit scared at the mention of tha very idea, akin to a spoiled momma's boy having to finally face responsibility and become self sufficient. i think if more black ppl knew our true history, and tha complete history of our relationship with europeans, not tha whitewashed version, we would not only realize tht we are selling ourselves short, and tht we are capable of more than we give ourselves credit, but realize tht simply striving for a higher rank on tha white man's platoon is not in our best interest, considering tha fact tht europeans have seen tha african at best as a commodity to be exploited, and at worst as public enemy #1 for at least tha last half millenium.
I already know the conscious community is a hoax, that's not news to anybody. There are plenty of scholarly Black historians that posses incredible depth, meaning they're people who "know the true history" so to speak, still they're not rich. The best thing to do is make sure you and your family are well off first, that's a step that can't be skipped. Then discussing upward mobility for an entire community becomes a more realistic and achievable goal worth speaking about.

I would say the same. It took large amounts of primetime news showing blacks being murdered at the hands of whites for people to start acting pro black
IMO it started with the Obama Presidency with a mix of social media.

A lot of confusion for black people on what progress really is. When they realized this was not progress they ran to the social media platform to voice there opinions.

This is not being Pro-Black, it's Social Commentary, a form of entertainment, which again is not progress.

To be honest, I think the idea of being pro black should be scrapped and replaced. It's kind of dated.

I'd say the early 2000's were still pro-black.

The dark age really came around the mid-to-late 00's. The period of 07/08/09 al the way up until Trayvon Martin was just a horrible era. :scust: I remember being in my "anti-ignorance" phase as a kid it was so bad.
I feel like once we got fully into the "bling" ringtone rap era ignorance was at an all time high with the c00n rap songs (Jibb$ "chain hang low", Chicken Noodle Soup), the snap muzik, hip-hop was being hijacked into some blatantly ignorant bullshyt and many rappers were selling out just for a check.

Still relvant.
