Them going to africa and making a deal with some random dude and acting like its legitimate contract between two governments is just part of their strategy.

Some of the tribes were pressured into adopting slavery when some of them wanted to get rid of it. Even the Dahomey for all their shyt, their ruler Ghezo who was strongly in favor of keeping slavery was a puppet put in place by non-African slavers who wanted to keep things going as opposed to the African merchants and religious leaders who were more inclined towards palm oil trading and so on. I find it interesting that whites like to claim the euros stopped slavery when they were for the longest time proponents of it and Ghezo being assassinated by a Abeokuta sniper and their warriors played a greater role than anything and the euros were more driven by economic concerns than moral ones.

In any case, my point is that from a legal standpoint, it would be harder to get reparations from Africa. The fact that many of those kingdoms and even tribes don't exist anymore. The governments in place are not the ones who could be found responsible in the first place.
